I have recently purchased a new apartment, and it’s a little on the small side. Perth housing market is tough, as a first home buyer, it’s not easy to find something that is city central, modern, low maintenance and a good size for under $500k! Sounds ridiculous really, but that’s the truth. So – with this small purchase (Size, not amount!!) I am constantly on the lookout for tips, tricks and design ideas to make the most of the space, and not to clutter or choose colours/textures that will reduce the size of the area to the eye.

The lovely Lucy over at The Design Files (absolute go-to blog, without doubt it’s my pre-7am morning read!) has shared this magical Melbourne Oasis belonging to Alex Kennedy. What a treat to the eye. The use of timber and natural elements inside this home, small home (6×6!) is so inviting. Alex has explained in the article how she renovated the garage on her parents property to be her live in residence, or her humble abode… aka tropical Melbourne oasis.

Favourite part – without fail that bathroom. What a delight, the bath, timber, natural plants and that seriously chic mirror really make this a one-of-a-kind space.
